MARCUS Hallows' dream of following in his father's footsteps were dashed today when he was released by Bolton Wanderers, The young striker, son of Paul who was a Burnden first-teamer in the late 60s and early 70s, is leaving Burnden after a season of reserve team football. He joined the club last summer from Leigh RMI for a nominal fee.
Another reserve team regular, defender Mark Powell, has also been released.
Colin Todd, who announced a new deal for Nicky Spooner last week, has also offered new contracts to winger Stuart Whittaker and midfielder Stuart Whitehead.
Trainees Steve Quinn, Neil Marsh and Hasney Aljofree have been promoted to the professional ranks.
