DEANE youngster Stephen Parry, fresh from his BGA win at the weekend, finished third in the Lancashire Schools Golf Association Inter-Regional Championship yesterday.
The 16-year-old had the benefit of playing on his home course to produce the best first round score of 71 but then followed it up with a 76.
The scratch event was won by Formby's 13-year-old Nicholas Docherty who fired in two rounds of 72 to finish three shots ahead of Clitheroe's David Preedy. Dunscar's Gareth Hastie was among the leaders with 77-75-152 while Ryan Thompson, from Old Links, hit 81-73-154.
The three local lads will be in action again on Sunday at Dunscar representing Lancashire Schools in their clash with Lancashire Boys. Hindley Hall's promising youngster Jason Sleigh has been named in the Boys side.
