A YOUNG girl escaped with just minor injuries after plunging 25ft from the roof of an Atherton factory last night.

Jodie Walmesley, aged 11, of Norfolk Road, fell through a skylight at Barr Soft Drinks in North Road.

She had climbed on to the roof at the rear of the building with a friend Chris Berrington of Hag Fold, Atherton.

She landed on a concrete floor inside the garage but amazingly managed to get up and walk out on to North Road where she collapsed.

An employee of Barr Soft Drinks rushed to Jodie's aid. The schoolgirl was taken to Bolton Royal Infirmary but was later allowed home after treatment.
