UP to half a dozen established stars could on their way out of Gigg Lane during the summer.

Bury are prepared to offload a number of stars who have helped earn the club promotion for the first time in eleven years as they clear the decks to bring in new faces.

The Shakers management have drawn up a wanted list of men they want to help establish themselves in the Second Division next season.

But they will not be able to add to the squad without selling first. The releasing of Trevor Matthewson, Ryan Cross, Mark Sertori and John Paskin this week has reduced the senior squad to 19 players. And Bury's limited income will only allow them to carry one or two more players on the increased wages they will have to pay at the higher level.

That means more men will be on their way out of Gigg Lane as boss Stan Ternent bids to increase the quality of his squad.

He is prepared to listen to offers for fringe players such as Stuart Bimson, who is wanted by his old club Macclesfield, Shaun Reid, who continues to interest Cambridge United who failed with a bid last season, and Andy Woodward. And fans favourite strikers Mark Carter, 35, and 33-year-old Phil Stant's days also appear to be numbered as the Shakers bid to reduce the average age of the squad.

Ternent is desperate to recruit a left back and right sided midfielder and is also looking to strengthen the centre half, central midfield and strikers positions before the start of the new season.
