MEMBERS of a Westhoughton Church have moved to a temporary new home after their building was vandalised.
The Church of the Nazarene at Church Street, had all of its windows in the church and hall smashed in the attack two weeks ago.
The church was already in a run-down condition but now its members can no longer worship there and are holding services in a hall at Tithe Barn Street, loaned by St Bartholomew's Parish Church.
Mr John Paton, District Superintendent of the Church of the Nazarene, said the cost of the damage was not yet known. He said it was thought that the vandals used a hammer or something similar because there was no sign of any stones lying around.
Mr Paton said the church was now looking for alternative premises: "The church does not give in just because people have vandalised its building."
The minister Mr Tony Rice is away on holiday.
