TUNNEL vision could be hindering the future growth of many British businesses, it is claimed.
A research report by Barclays reveals that more than eight of ten businesses have never even considered exporting.
It means they may be missing out on their share of Britain's £175 billion worth of international trade.
Stephen Edwards, International Services Manager at Barclays Bank, Bolton Business Centre, says it is disappointing that with existing exporters so positive about their experiences, so many small businesses appear to be passing up valuable opportunities.
He said: "In an increasingly competitive market, businesses need to grasp all opportunities, such as exporting, not just as a prerequisite for survival but to ensure future growth."
