BRAD Hodge, Farnworth's Aussie pro, produced a devasting batting performance yesterday as Eagley were consigned to a 158 run defeat.
Hodge hit 174 not out in an innings that brought a list of outstanding statistics.
He hit 13 sixes and eight fours, his fifth wicket partnership with Peter Morris produced 156 runs in 15 overs, his last 50 was achieved in 13 minutes and off the last seven overs of the innings he hit 97 runs.
That helped Farnworth to a staggering 264-4 while Hodge's reward was a place in his club's record books as the highest individual scorer.
And that wasn't the end of things as Carl Drinkwater turned in a magnificent bowling performance.
He took the first eight wickets in the Eagley innings and eventually finished with 8-55 as the home side were dismissed for 106.
Kearsley were also among the runs hitting 243-2 in the 75 run win at Heaton.
Steve Davies hit 94 not out and Craig Duxbury 87 in a partnership worth 172.
Heaton were then all out for 168, Lee Sutton hitting 70 not out and Tim Barry 39.
Westhoughton got back on the winning trail with a handsome five wicket win at Greenmount.
The home side hit 195, Kevin Geyer 57, while Stuart Harrison finished with figures of 5-56. Westhoughton then reached 197-5, Steve Parker 45 and Ian Pilkington 38.
Farnworth Social Circle were dismissed for 150 as Stuart Hornby calimed six wickets for 23. But Circle made a winning reply dismissing Egerton for only 132.
Little Lever and Tonge both looked likely winners in their games against Astley Bridge and Bradshaw but had to settle for draws in the end.
Mahboob took 6-52 as Little Lever were dismissed for 165 but Astley Bridge had to hang on at 125-9 to force the draw.
At Castle Hill, Tonge smashed their way to 269-6, Jim Aspden scoring 91 and Gary Garner 63 not out. Bradshaw put up the shutters when they batted, finishing on 134-4, Paul Rayment 64 not out and Dave Morris 52.
