"PERHAPS your readers can help me gain further knowledge of my ancestry," comes a message over the Internet from Mr Brian Avery in British Columbia.
"Joseph William Bridge (about 1838-1919) and his wife Henrietta Louisa (Jackson) Bridge emigrated from Bolton to Carman, Manitoba, Canada in 1883. He had conducted a tailoring business in Bolton having taken over his father's business. His brother, also a tailor, took his family to New Zealand the following year.
"Joseph and Henrietta were my great-great grandparents. Their daughter, Louisa Bridge became a pioneer teacher in Manitoba. She married John McCullough who came with his father to Manitoba from Lonsdale, Ontario.
"The McCullough ancestors had come to Canada from Syracuse, New York where they had lived a few years after coming from Armaugh, Ireland.
The McCulloughs had originally come from Scotland. Apparently their name had been spelled McCulloch.
"I would very much love to know more about my ancestors still living in England as well as the area they live in. If you have any knowledge of the Bridge's of Bolton please write me at 28-1980 Glenwood Drive, Kamloops, British Columbia. V2C 4G4."
Well, there you are folks. If anyone can help, please write to Mr Avery at the above address. Or, if you are into the Internet (no, don't ask, it's far too complicated for me!), you can contact Mr Avery on .
