SIR:I refer to the article: Poor Access to NHS Funded Abortions (BEN, May 9).
I wonder, do people really want hard-pressed NHS funds to be spent on free and more easily accessible abortions? Especially in view of the fact that, in the overwhelming majority of cases, the law is being flouted to provide abortion on demand. The irony of the situation is surely that when so many childless couples are also seeking more NHS funding for fertility treatment, little is being done to encourage women to choose the loving alternative of adoption.
