By MIKE HULME LEIGH Centurions will today transfer list skipper Shaun Bannister in a shock move.
Hooker Bannister as been unsettled at Hilton Park for some weeks but things came to a head last night when he made himself unavailable for training.
Bannister had showdown talks with coach Eric Hughes and will be listed today. An asking price has yet to be fixed.
Former BARLA international Bannister has been left out of the side that makes the trip to Chorley on Sunday with his place going to Jonathan Quigley. Prop Tim Street is the new captain.
"Shaun's not been settled for sometime and I think it's starting to affect his game," says Hughes. "He didn't train last night and I can't consider anyone who's not 100 per cent committed to the cause." Shaun Brown comes in at scrum-half on Sunday for his first start after a Centenary season wrecked by two broken arms.
Full-back David Lyon is Leigh's biggest doubt but Hughes is hopeful that he will have recovered from his knee injury in time to train tomorrow. Andy Cheetham is on stand-by to take over.
Young prop Dean Conway has been drafted in as substitute for the first time. Leigh's provisional line-up for Victory Park is: Lyon; Hill, Hadcroft, Veikoso, Purtill; O'Loughlin, Brown; Street, Quigley, Cain, Daniel, Ball, Mason. Subs: Ingram, Cheetham, McGughan, Conway.
Leigh's Alliance side meet London Broncos at Hilton Park tomorrow, kick off 2.30pm. The Academy team play Wigan, also at home, at 2.30pm on Sunday.
