THE Republic of Ireland striker, who scored in Wanderers' Wembley triumph last May, grabbed the extra-time winner that saw Dundee United swap places with Partick Thistle in Scotland's Premier League.
The play-off triumph brought a happy end to a season for Coyle, who reluctantly left Burnden for Tannadice in a £400,000 transfer last October.
The bubbly striker said after clinching the 3-2 aggregate win with his ninth goal of the season: "I told the bench that if I went on I would get the winner and that is how it worked out!
"Now United are back in the Premier Division and that is where this club belongs. I could have hung around and been sub at Bolton but now it is great to be going up with United." United were 40 seconds from failure in last night's dramatic second leg when Brian Welsh cancelled out Ian Cameron's penalty.
Wanderers boss Colin Todd has poured cold water on suggestions that he wants to sign Leeds' striker Brian Deane, who is being touted for sale by Howard Wilkinson.
