SIR: I wish to complain about our non-existent bus service, namely the 571 and 572, with people waiting regularly for three quarters of an hour and upwards.
On Monday April 30, at somewhere between 2.45pm and 3.45pm there was no bus. After complaints, a bus was taken off another route (I think the 551?), which was filled up, but picked more passengers up on the route, the bus being overloaded.
Worse was to come, when the bus reached the Swan Lane terminus, all the school children were waiting and the scenes that followed were disgusting. I believe the headmaster should have been there in disguise so that he could witness the appalling actions of most of these children. The bus driver deserved a medal.
Anyway, I hope our councillor reads this letter and decides to investigate the whole situation because we the public can't do anything about it, as the inspectors disappear or lock themselves away.
