THE SHENANDOAH Ensemble - three musicians from America - will play at Rivington Church on May 31 at 7.30 pm.
The violinist, cellist and pianist, are professors at the Shanandoah Conservatory in Virginia.
Elizabeth Temple, Associate Professor of Piano and founding member of the trio, has performed extensively both as a solo pianist and as an accompanist and has won awards for her outstanding contribution to the arts in Virginia. Frances Lapp Averitt has been Professor of Flute at Shenandoah since 1973 and is married to the compose Wiliam Averitt. She has been principal flute with several American orchestras and last year performed in the Mozart Flute and Harp Concerto with the Maryland Symphony Orchestra.
Julian Tryczynski, Assistant Professor Cello, is a graduate of Yale School of music and also has degrees from the Cracow and Moscow Conservatoires. He is also the cellist in the Vaghy String Quartet and has appeared as soloist with orchestras in Poland, Canada and the United States.
During their visit to Europe, the three will give concerts in Ireland. An added incentive for this special Rivington concert is that wine and homemade biscuits will be served in the interval.
