THIEVES who broke into the home of a country and western club enthusiast stole replica handguns.
Mr Robert McKay, who is on the waiting list for a heart operation, said two guns had been stolen along with electrical items and jewellery from their ground floor flat in Bag Lane, Atherton, last night. Mr McKay, 49, and his wife, Christine, 50, are members of Riverside Rebels Country and Western Club in Southport and regularly dress in "cowboy-style" clothing for social events.
The guns are Jaeger replica revolvers. A police spokesman warned that they could "get into the wrong hands".
