A BOLTON woman now living in the United States returned to her home town to get married.
Julie Taylor, from Cockey Moor Road, Ainsworth, married her boyfriend Troy Clauson at Ainsworth Parish Church on Saturday.
For the past nine years Julie, 30, a former Harper Green pupil, has been living on Hilton Head Island, South Carolina.
She works in a restaurant and Troy, 29, works in a yacht club. "I've been seeing Troy since I went over to the US nine years ago so we thought it was about time we tied the knot," said Julie. She added: "I'm marrying back in my home town because it's what I always wanted to do.
"And eventually I hope to come back - I just have to persuade Troy!"
To add to the Bolton connection, Julie's maid of honour was her former Harper Green school pal Tracey Dawson, who also now lives on Hilton Head Island.
Troy also felt at home as his parents, brother and friends made the trip to Bolton for the ceremony.
The happy couple will stay in Bolton for a few days before catching the Transatlantic flight home.
