THE price of an average Bolton semi is on the up.
According to figures released by the Halifax Building Society, a house which cost £51,950 in the first quarter of 1995 was up to £52,900 12 months later.
Elsewhere similar properties were up from £46,100 to £47,200 (Wigan), £49,250 to £58,100 (Southport) and £66,450 to £70,450 (Chester).
Areas where the value is decreasing include Liverpool (down from £54,950 to £53,100) and Warrington (a drop from £60,200 to £52,150).
