WONDERGIRL Stacey Wiggans has a smile on her face again and is well on the mend after receiving horrendous injuries in a fall from a tree.
As reported in the BEN, 12-year-old Stacey had been playing near Eagley Brook when a branch broke, sending her crashing into the waterfall below.
Stacey, of Tithe Barn Crescent, Hall i' th' Wood, fractured her left leg in two places, left hip, the front and back of her pelvis, right shoulder, right arm, right elbow and suffered cuts to her liver.
But as our picture shows, brave Stacey is well on the road to recovery.
Stacey's mum Tracy said: "It is going to take her a long time to recover. She is at the beginning and has a long way to go.
"She has been very lucky and is healing well. Stacey is a strong person which has helped her.
"She has never been soft and her determination has seen her through. There is a smile on her face again now.
"The nurses think she's brilliant. They couldn't believe it when she came back to Bolton Royal from Booth Hall Children's Hospital."
Stacey will not be able to use crutches because of the injuries on both sides of her body and will spend some weeks in a wheelchair.
She is expected to make a full recovery except for the right arm which she may not have full use of.
Mrs Wiggans added: "Stacey is looking forward to coming home and going to school.
"When she comes out we will have a big party and invite all the people who have helped her."
