DETECTIVES are still hunting two men who raided the Hawker Siddeley Sports Club at Gladstone Road, Farnworth, and escaped with more than £2,000.
As reported in later editions of the BEN last night, steward Frank Peake and his wife Joan, were locked in a spirits cupboard for more than seven hours.
One man held a knife to Mrs Peake's throat and her husband was ordered to open the safe. The men were both wearing balaclavas and one carried a crowbar.
Mr Peake, aged 58, was back at work at the club this morning and his wife Joan, 53, was expected to return to work this evening as normal.
The alarm was raised at 7am yesterday when Mr Peake's daughter woke to find her parents had not come home.
