TWO senior officials involved in the running of Bolton Council's public car parks have been suspended from duty following the launch of a town hall probe into alleged irregularities.
Car park manager Danny Fletcher and administration assistant Bill Pithers were told of their suspension when they arrived for work yesterday morning.
The council department launched an investigation following a number of allegations against the pair.
The town hall are refusing to reveal details of the allegations or who made them.
A council spokesman said: "Two members of staff have been suspended in line with normal council policy following the making of certain allegations.
"An internal inquiry is proceeding".
A union spokesman remained tight lipped about the case but added: "Unison will be working for and on behalf of members who find themselves in this position.
"I am not prepared to comment further because I have no wish to prejudice the outcome of any investigation."
