RONNIE Irani's appetite for international success almost matches his liking for Tom Fraser's sausages!
When he was an up-and-coming youngster making his way with Lancashire, Ronnie spent part of his winters working in Tom Fraser's butcher's shop in Rishton Lane.
"He helped make the sausages for the shop," says Tom who is now retired. "He developed quite a liking for them so I've written to him offering my congratulations on his selection for the Texaco Trophy series against India.
"But I've told him that if he makes a 50 I'll send him 5lb of sausages. It'll be the strangest prize he's ever won." All-rounder Irani has left his Bolton and Lancashire roots behind and has spent the last two years with Essex.
