A SENIOR member of the Royal Family enjoyed breakfast in Bolton today before a visit to the North West.
HRH Prince Philip the Duke of Edinburgh rested on the royal train The Prince William in sidings outside Bolton rail station early this morning.
The train stopped for the royal party to rest briefly before Prince Philip headed for official engagements in Salford and Manchester.
He was due to visit Salford University, Manchester town hall and the Heathlands Jewish home for the elderly in Prestwich.
A British Transport police spokesman said: "The royal train did stop at Bolton before taking the party to Salford station."
