TWO children's hospitals have benefited following a memorial concert held at Westhoughton.
The concert at Greenfield's Club was organised by John and Barbara Staniforth whose son Chris a mining engineer died last September while working in India.
More than £900 was raised at the event and Chris's children Elizabeth, Charlotte and Matthew presented cheques of £466 each to Derian House Childrens Hospice and Booth Hall Childrens Hospital, Manchester.
Mr and Mrs Staniforth, of Daisy Hill, would like to thank all who contributed and supported the event including Chris's former school pals, his in-laws, sisters and their husbands.
