LEARNER drivers in Bolton will take the new compulsory theory exam at a new test centre in Churchgate.
The Driving Standards Agency have announced that the tests will be held in the new centre when the written exam comes into force on July 1.
More than 150 theory centres have been set up around the country, designed and fitted out to ensure proper conditions for candidate's comfort during an exam situation.
Learners will have to correctly answer at least 26 out of 35 multiple-choice questions about road safety, vehicle handling and the rules of the road during the 40 minute test. Bookings for the new £15 test will be possible by post.
Application forms will be available from the Bolton practical test centre in Weston Street from June 3.
Booking enquiries can also be made on 0645 000555.
In most cases theory tests will have to be passed before a practical test can be booked.
However, people taking their practical test before December 31 this year will be allowed to sit the theory test up to six months after the test.
