A GENEROUS gesture by acclaimed artist Harold Riley has helped to generate funds for St Ann's Hospice.
The Salford artist donated one of his original drawings as first raffle prize at the hospice's silver jubilee gala ball at the Midland Hotel, Manchester.
The drawing was won by Worsley man Patrick Trodden. Patrick, lecturer in food and wine at University College, Salford, vowed to donate the drawing to St Ann's when he dies.
The raffle raised £3,000 for the work of the hospices in Little Hulton and Heald Green.
