A YOUNG boy who featured in a cheeky photograph has been identified as Jim Smethurst.
Librarian Ken Beevers appealed in the BEN for the names of the two children pictured in a famous photograph from the thirties.
It shows two boys weeing into a puddle near the Ellesmere Street Independent Methodist Church in Farnworth.
Ken said he had four independent phone calls naming the boy on the right of the photograph as Jim Smethurst of Farnworth, who died four years ago. He had two telephone calls from Jim's brothers, Bob and Edmund, who said the family lived in Ellesmere Street, Farnworth, when the photograph was taken in 1938.
The other boy has not been identified.
