MEMBERS of a local day centre now have a fully-equipped temporary home in Bolton town centre.
Users of the St George's Road Day Centre have had to move out because of building work. Temporary accommodation has been provided at Bank Street Chapel where the basement has been converted to provide facilities.
Bolton's probation service arranged for community service workers to re-build the basement, putting in walls, decorating, building toilet facilities and converting the kitchen to catering standard.
The project has cost Bank Street Chapel £7,500 but it is hoped the facility can be used for other groups when the day centre members move back to the United Reformed Church.
