SIR: Congratulations to Bury Council for their initiative in making dawn and late evening patrols to catch the irresponsible dog owners, who allow their dogs to foul pavements etc.
Something should also be done about those selfish people who patrol their dogs some four times a day without leads, allowing them to do their dirt on people's lawns and relieve themselves at will on the flower borders, killing off plants that have been lovingly planted. Do these mindless people think they are a "law unto themselves" and flout the rule that says they should walk their dogs on a lead? Perhaps some day they may get the shock of a hefty fine.
Harwood Dog Lover.
