A CHARITY for the blind is warning the public to be on guard against bogus collectors claiming to be working for them.
Henshaw's Society for the Blind has received reports that people are going door-to-door collecting donations in Bolton.
But the Old Trafford-based charity does not authorise any doorstep collections.
Head of appeals Janet Croker said: "Please do not give donations to these bogus door-to-door collectors."
Henshaw's occasionally hold flag days with collectors carrying permits, but generally donations are accepted direct at the charity headquarters at John Derby House, 88-92 Talbot Road, Manchester, M16 OGS.
