THE funeral of Chorley headteacher Gordon Wright took place on Tuesday.
Mr Wright, aged 53, who was head of Parklands High, Southport Road, Chorley, died suddenly last week.
Colleagues joined family and friends at the funeral in Harwood, Bolton, where Mr Wright lived.
The popular teacher collapsed and died last Tuesday night. It is understood he had bronchial pneumonia and had been off school for a few days with a chest condition.
Mr Wright took over at Parklands in May, 1990. He had previously taught at Darwen Moorland High School.
Staff and pupils at Parklands, where Mr Wright was well liked and respected, were deeply shocked by his death.
