Lovely cards and fancy cakes,
These small things a birthday make
People show how much they care
And this special day with those you share.
Cards say, mother, nana, wife
I count my blessings for this loving life
And then a tear comes in my eye
For those whose birthdays just pass by. Not a card do some folk get
They're alone feeling regret
No one to wish them a happy birthday
And they just go their lonely way
Some people ignore their birthdays I know
They just let their special day come and go
But those who haven't anyone one to care
My birthday wishes with you I do share E A Lilley, Higher Bridge Street, Bolton
