CLOTHING manufacturer Henri-Lloyd is set to embark on a recruitment drive.

The aim is to increase the number of skilled machinists in the company's Wigan and Worsley manufacturing units.

The head office site in Worsley requires an additional six sewing machinists, while the Wigan unit needs 10 skilled sewing machinists.

A rise in demand for the Henri-Lloyd products from around the world has created the situation.

Henri-Lloyd already has a workforce of more than 250 in the North-west and is seen as one of the region's leading businesses.

Joint managing director Martin Strzelecki said: "We have always kept a very close monitor on the production output of the company, but with the steadily increasing demand for the brand we are happy to be in the position of recruiting more people in the North-west."
