A TRIO who hope to prove they are masterly musical experts have been chosen to take part in a new BBC radio quizZMad About Musicals.

The three - Nora Howcroft, Judith Stamford and Robert Margolis - are all founder-members of Nohow Productions who regularly stage productions for charity.

They successfully auditioned for the quiz show which is the brainchild of Senior Producer Dave Batchelor.

Dave told me that hundreds of teams were considered for the programme and the Nohow contenders were among the eight chosen because of their musical knowledge and outgoing personalities.

Nora Howcroft formed Nohow with her husband, Don in 1990. She is a producer, director, actor and singer.

She also runs a dress agency and still finds time to act and model professionally.

One of the highlights of her stage career was being the first amateur "Nancy" inZOliverZfor Walmsley AODS.

Judith Stamford, is a teacher and directs for Bolton Catholics Musical and Choral Society. As well as performing with Nohow she is the group's secretary.

Robert Margolis is also a teacher and treasurer of Nohow. He performs with Nohow and is the Musical Director for their current productionZSide By Side By SondheimZwhich will be staged from July 8 to 13 to at Smithills Great Hall.

The Nohow team will be recording in Edinburgh on June 19 and you can hear how well they perform on BBC Radio 2 on September 6 at 7pm.

"We'd welcome some noisy supporters from Bolton to cheer on their team during the recording and join in a singalong at the end," Dave said.

Paul Nicholas will present the programme.
