DO you know anything about an old plaque on a wall at Tonge Fold, Bolton?
The question was posed by Mrs Ada Marshall, of Linslade Gardens, off Derby Street, who was brought up in Tonge Fold and remembers the plaque on a wall off Cemetery Road, in memory of a boy killed by lightning in about 1930.
Our photographer went up to get a picture and had a very difficult job finding it, but in the old tradition of don't give in until you have your picture, he eventually tracked it down. It is, however, extremely difficult to make out the words.
So how did it get there? Does anyone remember the boy being killed? And was it at that exact spot? If you have any information, please let me know.
