DES Drummond has stepped out of retirement to play for Second Division strugglers Chorley.
Bolton-based Drummond quit last year after a two-season spell with Workington Town.
For the past three weeks Drummond has been acting as fitness coach with Chorley who have only won two games this season.
But he has been persuaded to make a playing comeback by coach Kevin Tamati and he is expected to make his debut at Hunslet on Sunday.
Winger Drummond spent 10 years with Leigh, scoring 141 tries in 280 games. He later moved to Warrington and later Workington.
Drummond was also capped by Great Britain and went on the 1984 Lions tour to Australia and New Zealand.
