be saved SIR: I wonder how many of the (178) different birds recorded in the Bolton area around 1953, wagtails, jays, wrens, kingfishers, chaffinches etc, will be seen over old Horwich when the Wanderers new stadium gets built and Bolton Council adopts the 'unwanted' Red Moss Tip!
The bullfinches, snipe, redshanks, curlews, herons, wheateaters, grouse and twites will move deeper into the moorland.
A stadium and a muck-tip will be disenchanting for most people; a super stadium won't suite Lancashire's birds at all!
The Moss musn't be disturbed.!
