IF reports or Lord Runcie's comments about the Royal Family are accurate he has not only been indiscreet but he may have breached his trust as a Privy Councillor.
The former Archbishop of Canterbury was reportedly interviewed for a biography and accepted £1,000 in payment. He revealed his early knowledge of the Prince of Wales's affair with Camilla Parker Bowles and admitted he saw Charles's wedding to Diana as 'arranged'.
Members of the Royal Family are entitled to feel somewhat miffed. As the Archbishop of York asks: "If you can't trust the Archbishop of Canterbury , who can you trust?"
