AN angry man whose girlfriend was locked in a Bolton gym for more than two hours has demanded a full apology.
Furious Donald Jowrey's girlfriend Sharon Green was trapped with two other women inside Bolton Swimming and Fitness Centre on St Helen's Road when staff locked up on Thursday night.
Mr Jowrey said: "They were in the sauna and sun-bed area. At about ten past eight the lights went off and one of the women started screaming.
"But they were stuck in there. They had to find a phone and call their friends and relatives to raise the alarm."
He added: "I can't believe no one realised that they were still in there - according to their leaflets the gym stays open until 8.30 anyway."
The women were eventually freed with the help of the fire brigade at about 10pm, Mr Jowrey said.
Mr Jowrey also claims that when he went to complain the following morning no one was prepared to offer him an explanation.
A spokesman for Bolton Swimming and Fitness Centre said: "The situation was that these ladies had not signed their names on the register so there was no record of their being on the premises. However, the member of staff who did lock the door is not working for us anymore."
