A BOY, aged 11, and a 17-year-old youth have been arrested by detectives probing a doorstep attack on a Bolton pensioner.
The two were arrested in police raids on homes today.
As revealed in the BEN last night, 65-year-old grandfather James Lingard was threatened with a knife as he answered a knock on the door of his home in Woodvale Gardens, Great Lever.
The two would-be thieves fled empty handed when the defiant pensioner - who is awaiting a heart bypass operation - managed to knock the knife out of the thug's hand.
