THE second annual celery show, open to all England, was held at the house of Mr Joseph Haslam, General Havelock, Sidney-street, on Saturday, when there were exhibited some fine samples of celery, reflecting credit on the growers. There were two classes exhibited, red and white, all dressed for table use; 66 sticks were staged for competition. After the judges had made their awards, the room was thrown open for visitors, and was very soon crowded. The judges remarked that it was the best table of celery they had seen for years past; many sticks were highly commended.
