Wanderers boss Colin Todd stepped in quickly today to take the heat out of potential flashpoint with Steve McAnespie.

The Scottish full-back, in for the injured Scott Green, was clearly angry to be replaced by skipper Gudni Bergsson after just an hour of last night's thrashing of Grimsby. Wanderers were leading 3-1 and the former Raith Rovers defender had made a useful contribution.

Todd, revealed: "I've explained to him that the substitition was only made to give Gudni 25 minutes or so. It was no reflection on his performance."

The manager who also gave his two other subs, Andy Todd and Scott Taylor, five minute runouts at the end, added: "It is a team game and togetherness as a team will pull us through."
