POLICE have issued a warning to health and fitness clubs after an armed raid at a sauna. As reported in last night's BEN, two masked men threatened staff at the Chapel Street sauna, in Leigh, and snatched £150 at 7.30pm on Tuesday.
One was armed with a knife and the other with a baseball bat. They escaped on foot, but may have had a car waiting.
Chief Inspector Steve Westcott said: "The staff were uninjured but badly shaken by the incident.
"People working in businesses of this type should be aware of the attack in case the men strike again."
The man with the baseball bat is described as 5ft 10in tall, possibly Asian with a Liverpool accent. The man with the knife was 5ft 4in.
Anyone with information should contact Leigh police on (0161) 856 7240.
