A MAN was due to appear before Bolton magistrates today charged with the murder of his baby daughter.
Sysa James Oudomvilay, aged 21, has been charged with killing 18-months-old Demi Bolton who died in the intensive care unit of the Royal Manchester Children's Hospital yesterday.
Oudomvilay of Hooton Street, Daubhill, was interviewed by detectives at Bolton Central Police Station.
Police were contacted by the hospital authorities as little Demi lay critically ill in the intensive care unit. She is believed to have suffered head injuries. Demi had earlier been taken from her home to Bolton Royal Infirmary. She was then taken to Salford's Hope Hospital before being taken to the children's hospital.
Demi's mother, Bernadette, was today believed to be under sedation at her parents' home.
The death has stunned the family. A relative said: "Demi was lovely. She was a little doll."
