SCOTT Taylor scored his fourth goal in as many games for Wanderers Reserves last night but the Burnden 2nd Xl found the going tough at Prenton Park.
Wanderers were struggling after conceding three goals in a 15-minute first half spell and, although they performed better in the second half, they couldn't rescue the situation.
Rovers took the lead in the 24th minute when Gary Jones got on the end of a cross from Ivano Bonetti to score with a looping header.
Dave Challinor headed the home side's second on 36 minutes and Jones grabbed the third three minutes later when a shot from Alan Mahon came back off the post.
Wanderers' goal came in the 66th minute when Steve Quinn played Taylor in on the right. The youngster, who scored his first senior goal in Tuesday's 6-1 hammering of Grimsby, forced his way round a defender before keeper Eric Nixon.
Five minutes later Stuart Whitehead put Taylor into a similar position but this time Nixon came out on top.
Wanderers: Ward, Marsh, Small, Todd, Bergsson (sub Doherty), Strong, Quinn (sub Feeney), Whitehead, Potter, Taylor, Aljofree.
