PREMIERSHIP hat-trick hero Danny Ellison is set to sign a new two-year deal to stay at Wigan today.
The 23-year-old winger - who helped destroy St Helens Super League treble dream with three tries in Wigan's 44-14 win at Old Trafford last Sunday - had been considering a possible move to Australia to continue his career.
But he had agreed to secure his future at Cental Park after a fine end to the season.
Ellison - a scorer of 10 tries in 11 games as Martin Offiah's replacement - said: "The club and the chairman have been good to me and I want to stay at Wigan.
"We've just got to sort one or two things out before everything is signed."
Meanwhile Ellison's wing partner Rob Smyth has undergone an exploratory operation on his damaged knee.
Further surgery is expected to keep Smyth sidelined for a lengthy spell although Wigan hope he will be back in action for the start of the next Super League season.
