BRITISH Telecom organised a Wigan area business breakfast at the Oak Hotel recently.
Those present included local government representatives, public and private sector business people and educationalists.
The guest speakers were Wigan MP Roger Stott and Graham Whitehead, BT Advanced Concepts Manager at the company's research laboratories in Suffolk.
Delegates were told that BT's annual £260 million investment in research and development was keeping the giant company at the forefront of world telecommunications technology.
Topics included virtual reality and how it will impact on business life, voice recognition systems and text summarisers.
