COLORVISION shops in the Bolton area could reopen as a going concern.

Negotiations are underway between liquidator Leonard Curtis and a potential buyer for the local business Colorvision (JB) Ltd of Bolton.

The voluntary liquidation of Colorvision (JB) Ltd of Bolton - which followed the collapse of parent company Colorvision - caused a great deal of confusion, particularly among customers who bought goods with extended warranties.

Anyone who bought goods at a Colorvision (JB) shop and wishes to make a claim for goods or overpayments relating to the extended warranty should contact liquidator Leonard Curtis.

But Colorvision customers should direct general enquiries through the company helpline on (0151) 448 1515.

Colorvision went into receivership in July and Colorvision (JB) Ltd of Bolton went into voluntary liquidation soon afterwards with the closure of shops in Bolton, Farnworth, Bury, Leigh, Wigan, Preston, Oldham, Stretford, Salford and Chorley.

Two repair centres in Bolton and Preston also closed.

In the case of extended warranties customers may receive cash for the years of cover they have paid for but will not now receive.

Customers may be asked for sales and finance agreements relating to the goods when they claim. A sales agreement is also a receipt and warranty details should be on it. Photocopies of the documents should be sent when requested.

The PR spokesman said that making a claim was merely "a marker" and payments are not guaranteed. Contact Leonard Curtis and Partners on (0161) 236 1955 or write to them at Peter House, Oxford Street, Manchester M1 5AB.
