WORSLEY'S colourful past will be brought to life in a talk at Walkden Library on Thursday.
According to local author and retired lecturer, John Aldred, Worsley is "a backwater that holds many surprises".
John said: "Worsley was at the forefront of the Industrial Revolution, and royalty, scientists, industrialists and men of letters came to see this amazing place for themselves."
John's talk starts at 7.30pm and admission is £1.
