STAGE and real life have come together for Joan Doorey and her grand-daughter Alex. The youngster has won her first role with St Joseph's Players in next week's comedy-drama Dear Octopus.
And playing her gran in the production - is her gran.
"Rehearsals have been a lot of fun," said Joan, a popular player with the Leigh company for more than 40 years. "We have even run over our lines together while we have been washing up at home."
Alex Doorey, nine, will be doubling with 12-year-old Harriet Gill in the show which begins a four-night run from tonight. (September 17-20).
To keep it in the family, Alex's aunt - Kathryn Chadwick - is also rehearsing with St Joseph's Players.
She is featured in the company's riotous October comedy Good Old Summertime, which runs from October 15-18.
Tickets for both plays are now available at Boardman's Outfitters, opposite the Co-op on Bradshawgate, Leigh. Or you can pay at the door.
