BOLTON Canine Society is coming home - and its members are over the moon.

The society, which held its annual shows at Bolton's Silverwell Street Sports Centre for 100 years, was devastated when the centre closed.

Members searched for some other suitable location and finally settled on the Castle Leisure Centre at Bury for their two shows last year. But attendances were way down on what the society had come to expect at Silverwell Street and they again began searching for somewhere in the town where it all began.

Now the society has been allowed the use of the huge Deane Sports Centre and members are confident the shows will soon be back to their former glory.

"We are really thrilled," said Mrs Sharon Lee whose husband Paul is society secretary. "The Bury hall was all right, but it just wasn't the same as being in Bolton and attendances suffered."

The first show at Deane will be on Sunday, , followed by the annual New Year's Day event. Details from Sharon and Paul on Bolton 655089.
