Wanderers could step up their bid for Everton's Swedish international Anders Limpar this week.
The Goodison winger, who is out of the Premiership picture, has told Everton boss Joe Royle he prefers a move to Bolton rather than QPR because he wants to keep his home in Southport.
But Colin Todd has to decide whether the time is right to pursue his interest in taking the 31-year-old Limpar, who is valued at £750,000, on loan.
Wanderers' youth team hit the cup trail tonight when they take on Mansfield in the Preliminary round of the FA Youth Cup at Burnden (ko 7pm).
Team: Glennon, Haley, Pryers, Hallatt, McLeod, Holden, McCleave, Doherty, Potter, Minchella, Feeney. Subs (from) Dawson, Fagan, Morrison, Corrigan, Trueman.
